Gary Towers, Deputy Regional Director, Business in the Community-East of England

Gary Towers is Deputy Regional Director for Business in the Community, East of England. After a successful career at Norwich Union spanning 37 years involving National Management and a Board level appointment he joined Business in the Community on secondment as Director for Norfolk. He then took on a wider role expanding activities across the East of England including:-

• Leading the development of Business in the Community membership.

• Volunteering programmes including Environmental Team Challenges, Vegetable gardens for schools, Reading and Number Partners and e-mentoring programmes.

• The Partners in Leadership programme personally matching over 400 Headteachers with Senior Business Managers.

• Developing Norfolk ProHelp which is now the most successful ProHelp group in the UK and setting up new ProHelp Groups in Suffolk and Essex.

• Setting up Employability programmes in Norwich & Great Yarmouth which provide training, work experience and jobs for the disadvantaged and homeless.
